Pomona Cafe & Wine Bar

Our story

Colombian roots, North Shore home.

Pomona is what happens when the way we grew up eating meets the town we chose to live in. A café, a brunch destination, and a wine bar, all in one warm room on Humphrey Street.

The Pomona Swampscott storefront on Humphrey Street, warm interior light spilling onto the sidewalk at dusk.

Coffee, in Colombia, is a reason to sit down. Pomona began with that idea, carried by the people who built it — a belief that hospitality is a slow craft, and that a well-poured cortado can hold a whole afternoon in place.

We opened on Humphrey Street to bring that tradition into daily life on the North Shore. Everything is made by hand. The espresso is pulled with care, the brunch plates carry Colombian influence without being loud about it, the wine list is chosen the way a friend chooses a bottle for a friend, and the room is kept open long enough that a quick coffee turns into a long conversation.

The Swampscott chapter has always been about company. Coffee brought people through the door; the table kept them.

A wide view of the newly expanded Pomona dining room, natural light, oak tables set for brunch.

The room grew

Before, and now.

BeforeOne room, one bar, a wait most Saturdays and a lot of regulars who stood outside with a coffee.

NowTwo rooms joined into one, a proper service bar, new restrooms, and enough tables that the long Saturday finally has a place to sit.

The concept didn't change. The room just caught up.

The town's table

Swampscott, Marblehead, Lynn, Nahant, Salem — the neighborhoods send us their weekday mornings, their birthdays, their anniversaries, and their Sunday afternoons that never quite end. We save the corner table for the couple that comes every week. We remember the orders. We keep the wine we know you love.
